What sells at car boot sales
Every sale is different, but some things move almost everywhere.
Usually sells well
- Children's toys, games and clothes – parents look for bargains on things children outgrow quickly.
- Hand and garden tools – especially older, well-made ones (bring proof of ownership for power tools).
- Vinyl, retro games and collectables – dealers arrive early for these; know roughly what they are worth before you go.
- Kitchenware and small homeware – cheap, practical and easy to carry away.
- Books and DVDs – low prices and bundle deals work best.
Harder to sell
- Large furniture (unless the buyer has transport), outdated electronics and anything broken or incomplete.
- Adult clothing at full price – bundle deals or a “£1 rail” shift far more.
Pricing tips
Price to sell: most buyers expect to pay pounds, not tens of pounds. Mixed boxes, “3 for £1” bins and a clear price on each item keep people at your pitch.
